Aqua Verde Real Estate
If you’re looking for that elusive thing called “the good life,” consider Aqua Verde. Part of West Lake Hills in Travis County, Aqua Verde is a luxury community where a sense of community is as strong as a sense of luxury. A mix of single-family homes and condominiums, this smallish, exclusive subdivision is home to a diverse mix of residents. Nothing says “Austin” more than living in sophistication and style while staying close to and dwelling in harmony with nature’s glories. Those who call Aqua Verde home know this better than most; after all, they live it every day. It’s a place where successful people can come home to a haven, a refuge, and a base from which to savor the good things in life.
Aqua Verde Location
Located between Loop 360 and Lake Austin (the Colorado River), near the Pennybacker (360) bridge, and close to the Austin Country Club and Emma Long Metropolitan Park, Aqua Verde includes the Bunny Bend, Bunny Run, LakeSide and Westbridge subdivisions. Aqua Verde residents enjoy proximity to both downtown Austin, and the celebrated beauty of the Hill Country. With parks minutes away, and the lake either right on their doorstep or close by, they don’t have to venture far to sample some of the best of what the region offers. Aqua Verde is part of the acclaimed Eanes ISD, one of Greater Austin’s best school districts (Westlake High has won many awards in both academics and athletics, and the elementary and middle schools are equally exceptional). St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, an acclaimed private preparatory school, is also part of the neighborhood; in addition to rigorous academics, its Soccer Academy is the leading academic-soccer program in the United States. The Bunny Run subdivision takes its name from The Nalle Bunny Run Wildlife Preserve, part of the Hill Country Conservancy. A 35-acre wilderness preserve, its primary aim is giving local wildlife – including endangered songbirds, small mammals, rabbits, and deer – a safe haven near a metropolitan area.
Aqua Verde Neighborhood
Aqua Verde residents like the privacy their quiet neighborhood affords, but they also enjoy socializing and do so frequently; for example, every December a Las Posadas celebration (a Mexican Christmas tradition) is held one evening at a resident’s home and attended by scores of people. (The neighbors also take great pride in attempting to outdo each other’s holiday lights; some are quite impressive indeed.) Outdoor enthusiasts will be in heaven with all the opportunities for recreational pleasures close at hand, whether in the above-mentioned parks and preserves; at the legendary, 108-year-old private Austin Country Club, with its 18-hole, Pete Dye-designed course; or at nearby horseriding stables.
Aqua Verde Houses
Older homes in Aqua Verde can be had for under $250,000; new homes range from about $500,000 to over $1.5 million, with floor plans from around 2000 to 6000 square feet. Higher-end properties often come with very special luxury features, such as travertine floors, cathedral ceilings, cedar closets, wet bars, gourmet kitchens, large private pools and impressive landscaping. Many of Aqua Verde’s waterfront homes also have a boat dock, and spacious areas for entertaining out of doors.
