The Courtyard Real Estate
A mix of older housing and new construction, The Courtyard is located in a delightful spot: just west of a bend in a creek which is a tributary of the Colorado River (Town Lake), just east of the Loop 360 highway to downtown Austin, across the water from RR 2222, and very close to the landmark 360 (Pennybacker) Bridge. Its prime location allows easy access to both the delights of the city (just 15 minutes away), and the Hill Country and its lake system.
The Courtyard Homes for Sale
Housing at The Courtyard (and its subdivisions, such as Villas at the Courtyard) varies widely. Although the neighborhood includes condominiums, garden homes and townhomes, the majority consists of single-family homes, from modest family homes to large lakefront estates. Prices range from $175,000 to $1.5 million, with living space from 1000 to 6000 square feet. The homes typically feature beautiful landscaping with many mature shade trees. Inside, especially in the higher end, you’ll commonly find amenities like gourmet kitchens with upscale appliances, hot tubs and/or jetted bathtubs, cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors and outdoor pools. The most expensive properties are lakefront, with boat docks and spectacular views – but wherever you live in this neighborhood, great Hill Country and lake views are close at hand!
The Courtyard's Many Amenities
Residents of The Courtyard enjoy the active life, and take full advantage of the numerous recreational opportunities right in their backyard. There is a gated community park, to start; and just across the creek, day-launch boats are available for sailing. Then there’s the popular Courtyard Tennis & Swim Club, a private enterprise which runs an array of programs – for example, they sponsor many competitions under the aegis of South Texas Masters Swimming, which caters to adult swimmers of all ages and abilities, from novices to national champions. The club’s members participate in all sorts of events, including long-distance swimming and triathlons – although if you’re just interested in learning the backstroke or improving your forehand, they can handle that too! The club’s facilities are extensive, including 14 outdoor and two indoor tennis courts; a large swimming pool heated year-round; and a large clubhouse. There’s also a café and bar; pro shop, weight room and locker rooms, and ample parking. The club offers tennis lessons from a number of pros, as well as swimming lessons and various swimming leagues. A bit farther afield are the rural delights of the Hill Country, from hiking and bicycling in nature parks and wildlife preserves to boating and water sports on the numerous lakes from Town Lake to Lake Buchanan. And if you’d like to come into Austin to see what the city does best outside of business hours, whether it’s a weekend street festival, nighttime concert or museum exhibit, or even South by Southwest, it’s just a quick drive away.
