Westminster Glen Real Estate
Westminster Glen is a prestigious development in central west Austin with homes priced from $500,000 to $1.5 million, and interior living spaces from 3000 to 7000 square feet. The neighborhood is just north of Emma Long Metropolitan Park, west of Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway) and south of FM 2222. Although some homes date to the mid-1980s, there's been much new construction lately, but only of the type that meets a high standard and blends into the existing landscape.
Westminster Glen Homes
Many of the newer homes were designed and manufactured by JKD Builder, a small, quality-oriented custom home builder that offers the personal touch of an Austin-based craftsman whose top priority is customer satisfaction. "Texas Tuscan," an adaptation of the well-known Italian architectural style that fits so well in the Hill Country, is one of JKD's specialties, and we think you'll agree they do a masterful job of it in Westminster Glen. The overriding feel is of tasteful luxury and restful quiet, yet it's only 15 minutes from downtown Austin.
Westminster Glen's "neighborhood club," the private, member-only River Place Country Club (www.riverplaceclub.com), just happens to be one of Austin's favorite golf clubs. Voted "Best Family Club in Austin 2006" by Avid Golfer Magazine, River Place is a family-friendly club with extremely reasonable membership fees. In addition to an 18-hole golf course designed by U.S. Open winner Tom Kite, the club offers tennis, a full-service fitness center, two restaurants and a café. There are also a wide variety of tournaments and other social activities, including day care, summer camps and other extensive programs for kids.
Westminster Glen Neighborhood
Emma Long Metropolitan Park, just minutes to the north, is an 1150-acre park featuring boating and swimming in Lake Austin, overnight camping, mountain biking, hiking trails, volleyball, archery and much more.
Adjacent Westminster Glen Estates, a separate development just off RR 2222, features over 100 homes on lots of at least one acre each. These are spectacular showplaces, with great Hill Country views, that you must visit personally to fully appreciate. But any Westminster Glen home is special. Many are gated, private estates with top-of-the-line finishes, fixtures, electronics and appliances. Huge backyards add to the privacy, quiet and charm of these retreats. Even new construction has ample shade from tall live oaks and other native trees and shrubs. Closeness to nature isn't just an abstract concept in this part of Austin: birds and other small animals are often seen in the surroundings, and even deer sightings are frequent.
Proximity to Lake Travis and the Hill Country lake system, as well as downtown, are two other reasons to fall in love with Westminster Glen.
Residents’ children attend schools in the well-regarded Leander Independent School District, including Laura W. Bush or Steiner Ranch Elementary, Canyon Ridge Middle School and Cedar Park High School.
Residents belong to the Westminster Manor Homeowners’ Association. Owners of Westminster Glen homes have their own HOA, found on the Internet at http://www.westminsterglenhoa.org/.
Affordable luxury, closeness to nature, and an easy downtown commute – we think you'll agree that the elements of Westminster Glen add up to an unbeatable combination.
