I got many calls from supportive appraisers when I first posted this to several forums. I was very frustrated that my buyers were being mistreated and put through this HVCC process. It was truly a disaster. I also don't like that the management companies essentially have their hands in the hard-working and experienced appraisers' collective pockets. It's a real shame. Neither did appraisers or any association of appraisers "lobby" for the HVCC. The HVCC was not "passed" by any legislative body. It was imposed upon the mortgage, real estate and real estate appraisal professions by the Attorney General of New York, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
